Yes, that's right folks - this is my 1,000th post. I wanted to make it more than a "OMG 1000 POSTS!!!!1!11!oneonetwo." I have been thinking about what to make of it and this is what I would like to know:

We have all of these threads and posts about all kinds of issues, with everyone giving one detail into their ideal world. I want to know more about everyone's idea world. I have a feeling they will all be very close if not the same. What kind of ideal world do you envision? (I will put mine in after a few replies).

P.S. OMG 1000 POSTS!!!!!1!!!11!!oneonetwo!!

If you covert 1000 in binary to decimal, you get 8.

This is your 8th post

Congrats Brenda(n)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ideal world... Which one are you interested in - my ideal world, an ideal world in general, both, neither, my ideal world for you, Vin Diesel's ideal world? Oh, the possiblilites are almost endless...

I must concur! "Ideal" is a misnomer - if everyone could create a world to their ideals, those worlds would clash and spark and set off WW III.

For example, I happen to like eggs in my cookies. Bring out the boxing gloves!

I want to know what your ideal world would be like. We have all of these debates and really it all comes down to what we think makes the world a good place to be in.

I thought it would be good to have a broader view of what everyone's ideal world is.

And, there would be no peas or lentils or beets in my world...

To really get into my "ideal" world, would take about 45 posts, but I would have to say that if everyone was like me, that would be ideal. JK

But really, an ideal world would be a world in which the golden rule applies. I think that rule sums everything up.

Treat others as you wish to be treated.

If that one rule was held up, then everything else would fall into place.

Treat others as you wish to be treated.

That works so long as you don't enjoy being tied to a post and having the stuffing whipped out of you...

And for some random thoughts about my ideal world:

  • people wouldn't own pets that I'm allergic to
  • food that's good for you would be afforbable, and junk food would be priced atrociously (except for chocolate)
  • more people would use public transport, except when I have to use it
  • massages would be covered my medicare
  • you could get an appointment with a specialist the same week you call
  • every job would come with a minimum of 4 weeks vacation
  • people would keep their word and respect one another
  • all countries would see fit to get rid of their weapons and get along with one another
  • Montreal would inherit the perfect beach where it was tropically warm and sunny all year long
