In the words of James Belushi "My advice to you is to start drinking heavily".

Better listen to him Flounder, he's pre-med.

Sorry, maybe try some sort of nighttime cold medication?

"White noise" is an old concept that has become new again for inducing sleep. There are white noise machines, CDs and even alarm clocks that incorporate white noise to hasten the onset of sleep. Some people choose to have a radio on at very low volume to help. (I can't do that - I keep waiting for the next song, even if it's set to the classical station.)

What is White Noise

When CupCaked visited us, she turned the air conditioner fan on low and the hum masked all other noises, helping her to sleep. My best friend has his radio on 24/7 and can't sleep if it's not on. Sharing a hotel room with him drove me nuts - I kept waiting for that next song and was awake most of the night. )

Sometimes, if I can't get to sleep - and as silly as this is going to sound, it works for me - I lay on my side and gently rock back and forth. Just like rocking a baby in a cradle. Nine times out of ten it works perfectly. It's best if sleeping alone as the other person may not appreciate the movement of the bed if they haven't fallen asleep yet either. That, or sex - sex is good too.

Watch what you say about cats, B!!! You never know which one may really be a Familiar...

A movie/Televsion makes it worse for me. I will not fall asleep. For me anyway the reason I can not sleep is because of so many idea's and images racing around in my mind. A constant barrage of thoughts coming and going. A television doesn't help that. (for me).

Brenden, you are still young (and so do us)...how could possibly we understand the mindset amongst the old ones? Many of them would be found fall asleep facing against the TV set in the middle of the night. Some even slept with their mouth opened!

Maybe someday we'll become part of them. The whole TPers seniors would "zzzzz" in front of computers...

And of course, there is always the "if all else fails" option, which is to get somebody to whack you round the head with a baseball bat really hard. Admittedly there are some occassional side effects or interconnected issues, but you'll sure as heck be out for a while...

Cursed beer ~ I swear, it even crossed my mind to check, but then I thought, no I'm right. The funny part, I was debating between James and Jim.

Go to your local library and borrow a book called, "The Process of Management Accounting Theory Development"

It works a treat - I guarantee it
