i am the most sentamental person ever. sometimes its just dumb. ill wanna cry throwing out the stupidest thing. but its all good! im not as bad as i used to be. im still sentimental, ive just realized what isn't something to be sentimental about.
that made nooooooooooooooooooo sense

I still can't make the decision on what is worthy of sentimentality and what's not. I keep it all!! Though, sooner or later, I'm going to have to start culling things and then I will cry like a baby. I still have packets of sugar from a trip from 20 years ago. (Someday they may come in handy...) Furniture will probably go before I start throwing away the little things. I'll just pack it up in boxes, throw a cloth over and - viola - instant table... (It could happen...)

I've never really been sentimental about any particular item being with me in all my travels, but if I have to pick one, its gotta be my Reef slippers (also known as flip flops in this part of the world) They are almost 4 years old, dont look tatty in the slightest and have been everywhere with me! Actually I think I just might cry if they broke or died on me one day

I'va a whole box full of ticket stubs, sweet wrappers, that kind of stuff. my flip flops disintegrated in Pristina this summer, I was gutted. I have quite an impressive collection of beer bottles and shot glasses though. Nothing beets Serbian beer 7litres for about £2.50 and it's good stuff.

I've got a few daft things that have been with me for donkeys years, and i probably should have chucked but haven't. I have a ticket holder (a paper folder which i got a eurostar ticket in in, about 6 weeks after it opened) which i've stuck together so many times that it's now 95% selotape, but which i still use. I just kind of keep using it and because it's so stuck together it doesan't break so it's practical. My money belt has also been everywhere that i have (overseas, anyhow) since i was about 13 and i still use, and my rope has been a constant for over 10 years as well.

I do kind of get sentimental about these things, because i travel allot, and also because i travel light all the things i do have i use frequently (i.e. nothing gets hidden in the bottom of the bag), but if things break whilst i'm away, i will replace them there and then, and chuck stuff. If it lasts until i get back (just about), chances are that i will keep it in a closest somewhere.

In my childhood I used to move on very frequently. I been in the same city a few years now, but every now and then I do a "Move on cleaning" and half the house ends in the garbage. Still, there are those little things I keep, not just of my travels, but of important moments too. Even these memory box is scavenged from time to time. When I'm just back home every thiny paper is wonderful, but after some time is easier to recognize what is true important... if I can't remember why I wanted to keep a thing, I'm going to throw it away.

What can I say? I like to travel light, in travels and in life.
