Hi,
Flights are cheap from Bangkok to HK - you should be able to get good prices from a local travel agent - just look in the local papers there & you'll find a bunch of agencies to choose from.

As far as prices in HK go. It is expensive if you aren't careful. But you can visit here cheaply if you do a little research.

Here's a link for hotels & guesthouses:

http://www.hadla.gov.hk/english/

You can find rooms for as little as $20 US, or into the hundreds!

Food is cheap if you avoid the "western" restaurants. Eat at the Chinese places & even cheaper if you go outside of the touristy areas. You can get an excellent meal for less than 5 bucks.

Most people on a budget go to the guesthouses in Tsim Sha Tsui. There are also hostels in Wan Chai, but I've heard they are dodgey.

Anything else I can help with let me know,
Martha

Yeah, you can get a round-trip ticket from Hong Kong to Bangkok. Check out these web sites for some informatiion:

www.cathaypacific.com
www.thaiair.com
www.china-airlines.com
www.emirates.com.

Hong Kong has lots of "bucket shops" and "discounters" you won't have a hard time getting a flight. I would recommend that you check the prices offered on the airlines web sites so that you will have an idea of what the prices are.

Round trip flights from BKK are pretty cheap don't forget to compare the prices you get with other travel agents. Some of the travel agents post the price of their flights in their windows.

Hotels are expensive in Hong Kong, you won't find the same good cheap hotel prices that you have in Thailand. Sometimes the travel agencies run a "package deal" air and hotel for one price. The hotels are discounted pretty good. Won't find these deals for Christmas, New Years, Chinese New Year and Fri. Sat. or Sun. I guess I am saying these special package deals are usually good for Mon. thru Thurs. (They have lots of customers on weekends and holidays.) Some of the travel agencies across from the Nana Hotel run specials like this sometimes.

I like the "special discount price hotels" that have an "all you can eat" breakfast buffet. With a breakfast buffet I can fill up enough to hold me until I find a cheap McDonalds in the evening. Two hotels that I used were the Panda and Imperial Hotels.

I'm not sure what you are looking for? If you mean can you purchase a round trip flight from Hong Kong to Bangkok from another country? Yes!

I bought a round trip ticket from Hong Kong to BKK from the U.S. I bought the ticket through Emirates Airlines, via their web site.

From the U.S. I called China Airlines up and purchased a ticket from them through their U.S. office. China Airlines tel. # 1-800 227 5118.

I am sure if you call or e-mail some of the other airlines they can help you out. Cathay Pacific and Thai Air also fly from Hong Kong to BKK.

Keep in mind that when you use a credit card to make plane ticket purchases from overseas travel agents you will get a service fee and have at least two months of interest on that charge too! So, if you buy a ticket from an overseas travel agent and only save 25 or 30 dollars, your overseas credit card fee and interest may wipe out the small savings!

Always sign up for the frequent flyer programs that the airline have. You can use the miles for free rides, free upgrades and silver/gold card benefits.
