Redondo has indicated that this thread is about Ireland

I'll be traveling to Ireland late next month. I know...not the best time of year to visit, but the flights are cheap! Can anyone offer suggestions of what one might do there given the weather that time of year? I have two days in Dublin and plan to spend three driving outside the city. Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi, Dublin is great in the Winter, some unmissable things include Kilmannim jail, Dublin zoo, the guiness factory and perhaps a trip to drogheda outside dublin to see st. oliver plunketts head in the chapel.Apart from that Dublin is somewhere where you can truly just kick back and enjoy the craic with a pint of the black stuff!!!

GUINNESS FACTORY!

It's a 9-story self-guided tour and I spent all day there! Top-floor bar with a panoramic view of Dublin...awesome!

The Temple Bar District is full of cool pubs and shops too - great for a wander and a drink.

I'm not huge on museums, but I spent while in the National Museum of Ireland too (http://www.museum.ie/)

Enjoy your trip!

I enjoyed the Guinness Factory too, but found the 4-hour history lesson on water and hops a little over the top. Stop by the advertising section and take the elevator straight to the roof!

And Temple Bar is THE place to meet... other tourists. Although there's a fantastic pastry shop called Queen of Tarts that's like something out of a dream. Like Reid said, it's nice for a drink and a wander, but anything else will cost you the shirt off your back. Try Kilmainham Goal, Dublin Castle and St. Michan's (and tell me about it - every time I went it was closed!) for bit of history.
