I almost screamed outloud when I heard they were going on tour... Take That has been on my top 10 band list since I was 7!!
Mark was/is also my favourite. I had my fingers crossed they would come to Iceland, but I guess my wish isn't going to come true..
I still have my Take That pyjamas from when I was about 9 in my closet.. I just don't have the heart to throw them out.

Brendan and Isa; you should be ashamed, even I know who Take That is :) Then again, I think they were always much bigger in Europe than in the States.

Here's a link to the news on BBC

My opinion of this is; it never was Take That after Robbie Williams left and it never will be again....

Sorry - read the article and still out of the loop... After 10 years, are they now a "man band" versuses a "boy band"?

Also read an article on Robbie Williams as a solo artist. I can't say I had heard of him either. But, the article did say he didn't make much of an impact over here because Americans found him arrogant and self-agrandizing while the Brits found him "cheeky".

But, what do we know.. We're the country that brought you 98 Degrees, Backstreet Boys, Hanson and NSYNC.

Isa puts on the Grateful Dead and wanders off to another forum...

I have to plead ignorance about this group for multiple reasons;
1. Age: I am in my late 50s and this band never made my radar.
2. Country: The US did not get a full dose (similiar to the clap) of 'Take That'.
3. Sex: I do not pay any attention to 'boy bands'.
4. Curmudgeon factor: Being an older, cranky male living in the US, I tend to listen to music from the 60s and 70s. Long story short (too late! opines Isodora) 'Take That' will remain a mystery.

Oh Mike - you hit the nail on the head!!!

1. Age: I am in my early 50s and this band never made my radar.
4. Curmudgeon factor: Being an older, cranky female living in the US, I tend to listen to music from the 60s and 70s. Also, more ecclectic stuff for places unvisted by me - yet.

Isa heads off to listen to Janis for awhile...

Oh - don't mean to thread-jack to badly, but who else listens to Gogol Bordello? That's as current as I am... Gogol Bordello
