Hi,

I'm happy to say I shall be in Sydney from January 23rd 2006 for 3 months working. I am happy to do the budget hostels, but wanted to check first on the possiblity of sharing an apartment with someone and split the cost??? I suppose its also possible to have more than 2 people in the apartment too...
Let me know if your interested - Cheers :)

Chris

Chris,

I am not sure of local apartment searches, but I would look at universities. There are usually a lots of ads for roomates. Another option you can do from home is craigslist.com...it lists apartment shares all over the world. Good luck with your search!

I'm also looking into doing that, i should hopefully be out there end of Jan 06 and will be in Sydney for a good few months (probably), i am staying with someone i met last time i was out there for a few days.

A Japanese woman that i met out there she still hasnt found shared accomodation, depending on where she is it would be good to round a few peeps together and split costs, i dont know-i'm just going to go with the flow!

DEeyebrow,

Since you are thinking of going to a hostel for 3 weeks..you might want to try couchsurfing.com.

If you're interested in staying in the inner west, it might be worth trawling up and down King St, Newtown - there's usually heaps of "flatmate wanted" or "room free in share house" signs stuck up around the place. I have a couple of friends who have had travellers staying in their sharehouse, and they thought it was great.

Hey again,

All your info is proving useful... I'm currently in touch with someone about possibly sharing an apartment which is cool.
In responce to Maridod - thanks for the couchsurfing link... although, i'm not sure who would want someone putting their feet up round their gaff for 3 months!
Cheers aswell to Ujkle - Kings Street, Newtown has already been given some thought, so its good to get reconfirmation that it a good place to get accomadation.

Out of interest did you all manage to find shared accommodation? Im in Sydney from 4th March and will be looking for somewhere to live for 2 and a half months, so if you have a bit of space......
