Travel Forums Australia / New Zealand & The Pacific Flight to Sydney via USA question...

Hi,

Just curious about the visa situation in the states... I'm a British citizen and shall be stopping in L.A to change planes on route to Sydney, and then stopping there for a couple of days on the way home.

The travel agent said I should get a visa waiver or something if I have an electronic readable passport and not be a criminal... Is this true? I just wanna double check.

Thanks - Chris

The visa waiver means that you don't need a visa, but just fill out a form when you arrive there.
Be prepared to be treated as a criminal anyway though, with your thumbprints being taken, as well as a mugshot.

You'll be given the Visa Waiver form on the plane - its a green form, and isn't difficult to fill out - just start from the bottom. (And the US thinks the rest of the world is backward!) ;)
