The Quick Stats states that there are 50,095 members, however when I dumped the membership data into a spreadsheet, it only totals 50,094 members - doesn't the Pope count
More likely it's a difference in when the queries were run. Both are cached for an hour and I think maybe there was a slight difference in their timing, causing one to return slightly older results - it would explain a discrepency of 1.
Carmen Sandiego is from an old (?) kids' game show called, well, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?. If I remember right, contestants had to find clues and guess answers to figure out where she was hiding, and the winner then had to correctly identify a list of countries on a huge world map that covered the studio floor.
Yup - Tina is correct. Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego originally was a computer game designed to teach children geography. Carmen would steal something and you had to chase her all over the world to recover the item(s). It became a popular game show (hosted by Lynn Thigpen (now deceased ) and an acapella group aptly named Rockapella - we have the Carmen CD). There was also a somewhat short-lived Saturday morning cartoon by the same name.
Then again - locating the missing member reminds me more Where's Waldo? You know they are here - just can't see them for the 50,000+ others...
Isa now returns this thread to it's regularly scheduled topic.
