bktx1 has indicated that this thread is about Slovenia

I have only a week in Europe with my 9 year old son. We are spending a day or two in Venice, then exploring for a few days before ending our trip in Switzerland. Could anyone recommend some attractions and activities (including skiing) in Slovenia? We would be coming by train from Venice.

I already know I love the food because my favorite restaurant where I live is run by a man from Slovenia.

Skiing obviously depends upon the time of the year, but anywhere along the Western side (there is one valley and one road essentially which runs along near the border) has some great skiing. There is no one place I would recomend over anywhere else, although i personally love the area around Planica (Extreme NW of the country near Italian and Austrian borders) and also around Maribor (Slovenia's second city in the NE)

As for other stuff, the Postojna caves SW of Ljubljana are great and huge, and the area area Lake Bled is stunning and highly recomended. Ljubljana is a nice city and quite relaxed, although I can't recomend any specific kids stuff.

Hi!

For skiing I would recommend Vogel it's near Bohinj. In Bohinj you have lake Bohinj and near to Bohinj you have lake Bled. But I like lake Bohinj much more cause it's not so crowded with tourists.
But in March you'll have to look which ski places those have snow. Cause in march we don't have a lot snow. But I think that Vogel and Kanin (near Italian border) should have enough snow.
I don't know what would you like to see. Do you like crowded places or not? Do you like museums, movies or what? Let me know what do you like to see or to do, so it would e easier for me to help you.

Here you have links to best (on my opinion) ski places in Slovenia:
