Hello all, i hope you can help me out here. As a liverpool supporter, we have just been drawn against Benfica of Lisbon in the champions league. However, getting there is a big problem. To be able to go, we need to fly with one of the relatively cheap "low cost airlines", but we cannot get a flight into Faro, nor, Oporto, nevermind Lisbon. These ailrines do fly to Seville though. It is viable to get to Lisbon on the train via Seville? how long? and at what cost? any help or other suggestions would be much appreciated. thank you.
I'm surprised you can't find any cheap flight to Lisbon. In any case,
as far as I know the only way to go with train from Sevilla to Lisboa
is tHrough Madrid, and it ends up somewhat expensive and not that fast.
There as ALSA buses goind directly from Sevilla (Plaza da Arma) to Lisboa. It takes about 5 hours and cost 36 Euro one-way. Take a look
Have a nice game, but as a former lisboan I'll be cheering for Benfica:-)
There are options to go to Faro from Liverpool.
Check it here http://www.ghptravel.com/htm/cfly/fao.htm
And you can always go through london to lisbon with easyjet.
And porto also gives you options check the list here http://www.ghptravel.com/htm/cfly/opo.htm
Hope it helps you,
I once took the train from Seville to Lisbon via Badajoz. I wouldn't recommend it if you are in a hurry.
Seville - Madrid - Lisbon would seem the better option.
Have you considered hiring a car and driving?
You might be able to get a bus all the way down there. Its a long way, but I think Eurolines still go there.
