my son when he was about 8 asked for some money .
"what for?"
CONDOMS he replies
condoms ! what do you want them for?
well it says you can put a condom in a sock and fill it 1 and 1/2 ltrs of water. anyway he never got what he wanted!!!!!!!
thinking back you would have to fill it with pressurised water - not much good in the middle of nowhere.
strange some of these writers

yes, I do take condoms along when i am on a journey..jungle or otherwise...it is an essential part of my survival kit...as a water bag, tourniquet, gloves,"easy pee", etc...so many uses...just like the sarong!

Condoms are very useful items and very compact for traveling. But, something to keep in mind if you decide to use them for a holding drinking water - the majority of brandname condoms are coated with a spermicide on the inside. There are a few that do not coat their condoms, but they are hard to find in the US. I can't speak for those produced in other countries. If I were to take some along on a trip, I think I would take a few of both types - just pack them in different parts of my gear so I didn't get them confused.

Or you could just wash the spermicide off with a bit of water...

That was my thought too, but (duh) forgot to include it in my response.

Isa heads off to look for a better brain - or one with more memory space available...

And that's bad because you don't want to kill the sperm in your drinking water?
