defintily keen on the idea of traveling all around...very much so interested...love the idea of traveling in an old hippies van, have much experince with hitchiking...am open to anything as well. the traveling itch in my pants has been haunting me again for the past couple of months and i don't think i can stand the funny looks at work anymore due to my crazy ants in my pants dancing...i must get out and see our beautiful world and all these people. lets talk. oh...im niki

Hey ya Niki, Traveling bugs in your pants? lol

I usually go in july or august the hottest months, cause even then it can get quite chilly above 8,000' in the mountains. And really hot in the desert, I pack light. Generally pick one or two spots as goals to see, and the play the rest by ear or whim or wherever the trail takes me. Usually set up a base camp, with the truck, then do day hikes, It seems to work good for me, I can have the luxeries of good food, and cold beer, yet get to see some beautiful country.
If this sounds of interest to you, hollar back.

Sounds like fun, but I don't recommend hitchhiking in the USA.

I'm afraid I have to second that comment, especially alone. Crime against hitchhikers is not uncommon in The States. There are various regulations and laws which vary by state and even city which may get you arrested for doing so.

However, never one to rain on someone else's adventure ;) I'll give you a link for resources, tips and even pre-arranged shared rides. Just be careful out there.
