Travel Forums Europe Best way to travel these locations

Hey,

I'll be living in London for a few months this Spring and I have a few questions about how I can get around. I plan on traveling almost every weekend and I wish to visit the following: Germany (Berlin, Munich), Switzerland (Zurich, Geneva), Italy (Rome, Milan), Austria (Vienna), Czech Republic (Prague), Sweden (Stockholm), Norway (Oslo), Spain (Madrid), Ireland (Dublin), Denmark (Copenhagen).

Now I know I will most likely only get to about 50% of these locations but I still would like to know the best way to get to each. I plan on going to one country (if multiple cities I'll visit those within the same trip) each weekend so I will be returning to London after I visit each country. Therefore, can anyone help me decide how best to get around Europe when I have to return to London after each country?

Best,
- James

James,

check out Ryanair or Easyjet. They do very cheap flights, but the service is on the same level as the price. But if it's only a short flight it doesn't really matter.

If you are flexible enough you can get flights for 1 cent, you only pay for the taxes.

1 cents, hmm they don't sound very safe, hah.

ah mate!
i hav some advice - i may come across as a bit cheeky - so im sorry.

It seems you hav the "American's guide for all major cities in Europe in a weekend" - leave it at home. Ur tryin to see way to much - Zurich to Geneva is far! for American distance - ok its not - but IT IS for a weekend or even a week - ur missing all the good bits of Swiss in the middle!! and its very expensive (and Geneva is crap - go to Lucerne or Bern much nicer). U seem aggressively tryin to see alot - dont do it!

"Berlin to Munich" u need atleast a week in Berlin! and Munich is far from Berlin!

Why only a weekend to travel? its best to leave American a month earlier and spend that traveling europe first - use ur weekends for wee trips to Paris for example. Cheaper that way too so ur not spending all ur money on flights outta London.

make sense?

Again, as an American myself - i can agree since we dont have these budget airlines in the US - but its the way to travel over here. So dont worry about it - besides after taxes - the tickets are rarely under 50$ - if that makes u feel safer.

I hope this helped? Have fun!

Hey, thanks for the info. I guess I was pusing it a bit. Any idea of where to go then? I can only leave from thursday (night) and must be back by sunday night. The reason for these time issues is because I am studying abroad so I have classes these days. I really want to go to alot of places but I just chose these cities by looking at a map and picking the names I know. However, I still want to visit all the countires I listed. Any idea of cities that are better than these places in each city? I mainly want to go for the nightlife but I also am interested in a little sight seeing.

Also, I have been to London, Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris. I love London, Amsterdam was good but only in small amounts, Brussels was decent but leaning towards bad, and Paris was all sights no fun.
