Thanks Steff,

Berlin is a hot city. JeffG is close to right. I did discover a little alcoholica problem on New Years, Girlfriend not impressed.

On some subway platform some German dude, that was by the way the largest man I have seen in my life asked where I was from while I trying to bum a smoke from his buddy and then starting dancing around like a cowboy when I spoke english, shooting off his finger pistols. wierd. trying to get me to fight him, but the level of even was so in this mammoths favour...so I didnt know what to do. Just sorta looked up at him like a deer in headlamps. My girl saved my arse. whoa...

Went to a club called K17 before hand. had alot of different rooms and was quite full with all sorts of different people. spent alot of money and time in the car to get there. Was one to remenber, I think

What did you all get up to for the New Years?

as an american, should i not speak to to germans? i'm not looking for trouble -- just hoping to be accepted by locals. was planning to be in berlin for about a week in March.

ahhh nooooo! dont worry mate.

Im American to and have been to Germany several times with actually the opposite response - Germans are great fun and the best culture in Europe I think.

Although i once got an evil stare from an old woman on a train when i was carrying on about the Ameircan 'liberation' of Germany.

Moscowmeter (Dan) is just a magnet for trouble when hes drunk. you will be fine im sure.
