'Why are we here, what's life all about?
Is God really real, or is there some doubt?
Well tonight, we're going to sort it all out
For tonight it's the Meaning of Life.
What's the point of all this hoax?
Is it the chicken and the egg time,
Are we just yolks?
Or perhaps we're just one of God's little jokes.
Well ça c'est the Meaning of Life.
Is life just a game where we make up the rules,
While we're searching for something to say,
Or are we just simply spiralling coils,
Of self-replicating DNA?
In this life, what is our fate?
Is there Heaven and Hell? Do we reincarnate?
Is mankind evolving or is it too late?
Well tonight here's the Meaning of Life.
For millions this life is a sad vale of tears,
Sitting round with nothing to say,
While scientists say we're just spiralling coils,
Of self-replicating DNA.
So just why, why are we here?
And just what, what, what, what do we fear?
Well çe soir, for a change, it will all be made clear,
For this is the Meaning of Life
-c'est la sens de la vie,
This is the Meaning of Life.'
(Monty Python, The Meaning Of Life)

I can't stop wondering about what's the meaning of life? Is there anything universal or is it different from person to person???

Is there a meaning to it at all? Should there even be a meaning to it??

Does Death define life?? Why doesn't mankind just curl up and wait for the inevitable end??

Any thoughts on that?

I think everyone has their own interpretation of what the meaning of life is. That's probably the meaning of life in itself. I love the quote by Rainer Rilke (although I freely admit to not living by it every day - shame on me): "Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Do not now seek the answers which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. (So) live the questions now..."

Someone much smarter than I stated; "If God did not create man, man certainly created God." I think all of us who examine life/death and 'afterlife' have to come to grips with our mortality. This is why so many embrace the many religions that have followers. The thought of death being the final act is very difficult to accept for many. I am in that group as well. I have no proof, but I choose to believe that reincarnation is how this planet works. I have read enough examples that point to reincarnation that I am comfortable with my coming morality. I certainly could not say that if I thought once you die, that is it. I need the concept of something beyond the grave for my own sanity.

That is my 2 cents worth.
