If you had to take with you jus 5 songs, and 5 only, on your biggest wildest adventures, what would you make them? Im still in sorting out mode? to throw a few out there in no particular order:
Sunrise - Norah Jones
Come Away with me - Norah J
Babylon - David Gray
Sail Away - David Gray
Missing you - Jem
Mass Destruction - Faithless (What a tune!!)
Ups & Downs - Snoop Dogg
You can get it if you really want - Jimmy Cliff
At the River - Groove Armada
Mr Tambourine Man - Bob Dylan
Right Here,Right now - Fat boy slim
And i have to mention Jamiroque - Traveling with out moving and emergency on planet earth, at least one of his traxs have gotta be in the top 5?
Neway people as you can see im all over the place and yet am to decide, but lets see wot you got going on??
Happy top 5 picking!
(P.S Happy new year to all at TP)
Hmmm..that's a good question, your onto a good one with a few david gray tracks-he's brill!
Umm...i'd prob have at least a couple that are quite personal to me-they'd prob be quite sad.
Damien Rice-Cannon ball is another good track i like, jack johnson-sitting, waiting, wishing/breakdown.
I personaly listen to the words and i suppose different things you associate with personal situations/feelings/thoughts! I really couldnt think at the mo-it'd be quite a fun task to do i think-searching around and hearing old songs and tracks that you hadn't heard of for ages!
'One Vision' - QUEEN
'here i go again' - WHITESNAKE
'champagne supernova' - OASIS
'all around the world' - OASIS
'paradise city' - GUNS N ROSES
maybe 'black or white' - MICHAEL JACKSON...no idea why though
& if your going new york city then...
'NEW YORK, NEW YORK' - FRANK SINATRA
Gee--funny you should ask, because I'm putting together a CD for a group that is going to New York in April for a concert.
My picks aside from the trip, though, are:
Born To Fly, Sara Evans
Sweet Home Alabama, Lynnyrd Skynnyrd
Take It Easy, Eagles
American Woman, The Guess Who
Think, Aretha Franklin
Never Been to Spain, Three Dog Night
That's six. Math was never my best subject.
I'm noticing a trend of '70s rock--can anyone tell who got into daddy's eight-track collection? Bwa ha ha ha!
This one is tough... We don't really have travel songs - more like travel CDs. (So, I must go that route in my listing 'cause you can't stop at just one song...)
C'mon, C'mon - Sheryl Crow
Fruitcakes - Jimmy Buffet
Desperado Soundtrack - Various Artists
Equal Rights - Peter Tosh
On How Life Is - Macy Gray
For the sunny mood, probably some Goodshirt, Collective Soul, or the like; stuff that seems to inspire headbanging and/or careless, mic-less "caraoke." 80's rock shall also survive through the dedicated listening of Crowded House/Split Enz/Finn Brothers and such, even if you were born when their songs came out.
Naturally, the Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Road Tripping" obviously fits.
For long trips, provided you don't need to stay focused on your course, I would go with soothing sounds of The Verve, Sarah McLachlin, Oasis' "Wonderwall"...other artists escape my memory at this moment, but there are heaps of tunes I'd haul along any day.
Couldn't pick five songs, so groups of artists will have to do.
Top 5 travelling songs, they'd have to be songs that keep my head on my shoulders and keep my head going forward. Songs that make you feel courageous i suppose,, Here goes;
On the Road again (Bob Dylan)
Keep on Runnin (Spencer Davis Group)
Sympathy for the devil (Rolling Stones)
Ramblin Boy (Donavon)
At the Bottom of Everything (Bright eyes)
Basically anything off Highway 61 revisited(Bob Dylan) Gets you in the mood to leave town. Check out the lyrics for some of these songs, their also quite funny which is an antidote to missing Home..
I've been trying to think 5 songs but it's really hard to pick 5 so I only got 3 here...
Train- Drops of Jupiter
Kelly Clarkson- Breakaway
Shannon Noll- New Beginning
Gotta think about those 2 and get back to you!
Saturday Night - Herman Brood
One Vision - Queen
November - Rowwen Heze
Angels - Robbie Williams
Hello World - Belle Perez
and no there not my ultimate travel songs but just 5 songs I think at this moment for traveling. They can change ...
Top 5 songs eh? Hmm...well, I can tell you the Top 5 "anthems" that we have on cruise ships...these are the tried, tested and true staples of any crew bar!!
Take Me Home (Country Roads) - John Denver
Home for a Rest - Spirit of the West
Paradise City - Guns 'n Roses
Joyride - Roxette
Summer of '69 - Bryan Adams
Guaranteed to get any and all nationalities singing and dancing together!!
Wow, thinking about that makes me really miss the life onboard!!
