Hiya

I am travelling to some of the countries that you have mentioned in your list. The only one which I was told I would need a visa for is Australia. The travel agent who booked my RTW ticket (Travelmood) sorted my visa for me for £14.

Hope this helps, have a great time.

Hey people!

Inregards to your questions about visa i might be able to offer some kind of advice but you may need to check on it, just to be on the safe side. It depends alot on how long your gonna stay in each place.
Im going to 4 places same as you have listed. Thats Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, SE Asia.
for Australia if your staying under 3 months then you need to get a Australia ETA (This is an electronic Visa system, open to british citizen passport holders and certain other nationals.) if your gonna stay longer then there is a different type of visa.

Nationals of certain countries can visit New Zealand for up to three months without a visa but will need to be granted a work visa or permit to take up employment. more or less the same as Australia

Nationals of certain countries can visit Thailand for up to three months without a visa but will need to be granted a work visa or permit to take up employment.

Nationals of certain countries can visit Fiji for up to three months without a visa but will need to be granted a work permit or visa to take up employment.

Yep i have quoted this of a website which i do find helpful and is http://www.anyworkanywhere.com

Hopefully this will help in some kind of way. Im no expert but as im going away for a year ive had to do my research.

Neway hope all goes well

Laterz

Thanks folks ... well after digging a little further i came across this ...

USA
Not needed as the UK is part of the visa waiver program, basically if u have a new style passport (where your name and passport number is under the photo) it is machine readable and a visa is not required.
For further info: http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/temp_1305.html

Austrailia
Managed to do my ETA (only about £9.00)
For further info: http://www.eta.immi.gov.au/index.html

New Zealand
Cant seem to find what i need, as im 37 i cant apply for the WHV .. the search goes on

.. any help and/or suggestions are most welcome!!!

Others have already commented on the OZ and NZ visa, so I will add about SE Asia.

Ive just recently found out this info for myself so dont take it as 100% fact.

The Thailand Visa is free on arrival and lasts for 30 days.

For Laos and Cambodia you cna get the Visa at most of the border crossings. Laos Visa only lasts for 15 days but i think you can get extensions or apply for longer ones. Cambodia is 30 days.

For Vietnam, I am pretty sure you cant just roll up at the border and get the Visa. You will need to get it in Bangkok or Phnom Penh beforehand. Think you can get it online from your home country beforehand? But you would need to have dates of travel. By all accounts its very easy to get it when travelling through the other countries beforehand.

All Visas, apart from Thailand cost roughly between $20-30US. You have to pay in dollars as well
