Need some help.

Has anybody been to Phang Nga Bay (James Bond Island) in Thailand?

I'll be staying in bangkok for 5 days and want to visit. Any good ideas how to get there etc.

Hope you can help?

I have been to James Bond island and went on an organised tour from Phuket. I think they do them from Krabi too. I can't remember the price. I did the trip as part of a larger sea canoeing expedition around the hongs in Phang Nga bay.

Any travel agent/trip organiser in Phuket and Krabi will sell trips there

Is that 5 days all you have in Thailand?

It'll take you about 24 hours by bus to Krabi or Phuket, and back - if you're intent on travelling by bus it might not be worth it.

If you really want to do it, you could fly to Phuket from Bangkok - Air Asia, Bangkok Air and Thai Airlines all do this, varying levels of price and comfort - I think the round-trip fare with Air Asia is about 1000baht (£15GBP). Once you're in Phuket town it's really easy to arrange 'cause all the hostels and hotels can book you on a trip. It's a popular thing to do, and very mainstream touristy - the trip we did was quite fun though, and included kayaking through some sea caves on a pretty little island. I'm sure you could arrange some more unusual kayak expeditions around the bay if you were feeling energetic.
