Hey guys!

Looking for a one year travel insurance, have seen quite a few, aint concerned with the cheapiest but want value for money and good coverage on most things. At the moment STA seems to be the best but also is quite expensive at £350 excluding usa and allows for some adventure sports. There are a lot of cheapies out there but i do believe quite alot in travel insurance as have had a nasty experience in the past and luckly had jus covered my self a day or 2 before my trip.
Whats you recommendations please???

Cheers
Anoop

Well, when you know that STA makes 50% on their insurance it's not weird that it's so expensive :( That's right, only half of that money actually goes to insuring you.

That means that insurances that are more efficient in their operations will be able to offer the same insurance at a better price. Then again, STA does get good commissions because of their size and generally I'd expect their insurance to be pretty much priced to the market.

Have you checked out the WN travel insurance? I know of a few members that take it out all the time as it's well priced and offers good coverage specifically for those doing adventure type sports and travelling for a longer period. I also like the fact that it covers stuff like ipods, laptops and digital cameras.

It always comes down to a weigh off in terms of what you are comfortable with paying and what coverage you personally feel you require.

Sam

Try columbus travel. Cheapest of the lot that I found including "sport activities". If you are a member of YHA (or even just apply using the link from their site) you get 10% off.

I just signed up for BMC Travel + Trek Insurance (www.thebmc.co.uk) because it covers most of the outdoor activites that we are going for.

Worth having a look! Had pretty good reviews from forum people.
