I'm trying to spark off a proper discussion about which Insurance Companies are really worth using, and which ones are happy to leave you out in the cold... Im off to Oz at the end of the month and then im off to NZ, im planning on some extreme sports while im away.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Umm... not sure about their position on the extreme sports you are going to dobut give word nomads a look. they seem to cover most adventure sports and they are good value for money. However, I have never had to make a claim with them so maybe someone else can shed some light on whether they are up to scratch in that department.
Last year when I booked my rooms in madrid I was able to buy insurance right along with it for about 1.50 us dls per day, does anyone know what happened to that insurance?? I just booked rooms in rome and the insurance page did not show with the room booking.
I'm currently looking for insurance for Australia in March for 12 months.
One Quote so far: £260 insure and go. This is normal insurance plus cover for a camcorder and laptop.
Have no idea if this is a good price or not, this does not cover 'extreme' sports.
I just booked insurance with World Nomads, and they are very specific about not covering any kind of adventure sports, like skydiving, etc. I couldnt find any insurance company who would, but let me know if you do!
I used ACE insurance, they are £192 for 12 months worldwide and have a big list of extreme sports that they do cover however they are a bit slippery about not including personal accident and/or liability cover for some of the more extreme extreme sports. I have to say that I had no cause to make a claim and therefore I have no indication of how reliable or honest they are, however I do know that their 24-hour hotline number works 'cause I used it to retrieve my details after I lost them.
