Hi Jonny,
Iam going to be in Thailand and Australia later this year and apparently there are amazing national parks in Oz and Thiland (north-central I think!) and is supposed to be stuning in the south Thailand. If you like partys I thouroughly suggest a full moon party in Ko Panghan (not sure how to spell it!) Just off S.Thailand. We are booking a hut for the party too that look lovely!

Weve decided to go up the east coast in Australia to see the lovely beaches but if you look on the lonely planet site they have fantasic itineries that cater for all interests!

The Great Barrier Reef is an absolute must. I prefer to go from Cairns but Port Douglas is popular but doesnt live up to expectations.
Just out of Sydney, spend a week in the Blue Mountains and do a few hikes. Visit Leura and Katoomba and go for the less used walks.
Darwin is a hoot! Alice Springs is good and the gateway to Ayres Rock and surrounds- I love it!
The Great Ocean Road down the east coast is a wonderful drive with heaps to see and do along the way.
Sydney is packed with things to do and see- its endless and theres heaps for every type of person.
I could brag about this fabulous country for hours! Come along! You'll have the best time!!!
Sandy

Oh, and in Thailand... I find Bagkok awful- very busy, polluted, noisy, etc. A boat ride down the river to see all the wats and shanties on the river is great tho. I really enjoyed Chiang Mai and felt very safe (solo female) and loved the people (friendliest in the world?). Lots of great things to do there, loads of fun.
