You can get the speed if your ass is inside a garbage bag!

That's why you have to lie down as flat as possible....then you get the wind knocked outa you when you land, but what a rush !! And when you pick up speed and then put your boots down at the bottom just on the surface of the snow and you build up this really cool spray of ice all around you....now that's just the best !!

The ultimate is when it rains or warms up a bit, then quick freezes. We went this year, and there was a nice layer of ice on top. Cars were sliding on the road etc. Boy did we pick up speed !!!

If I didn't know better, I would think you were an "only" child! ;) (Not a bad thing - just easily entertained by anything near you.)

There was a place in New Hampshire we used to take truck inner tubes to.

Oooohhhh, I had forgotten about the inner tubes!!!!!! The were great and very speedy!!!! Even the smallest bumps would launch you into the air if the tubes were filled properly. And, they were our all-purpose accessory - great as impromtu rafts in summer (Minnesota: Land of 10,000 Lakes) and sleds in winter.

We got the bestest ones in the U.P....from the trucks at the Iron Mines! GREAT BIG GIANT ONES!!! We could sit two inside the hole..and roll them down the hill.......it was awesome! :)
(I got your 10,000 lakes and I raise you the Great Lakes..;) )

Okay, throw that in my face - but the great ones are really, really cold!

Jacks - those wonderful metal stars with the ball. Though, the little rubber balls didn't work as well as golf balls. Golf balls bounced high enough to give you time to pick up all the jacks. (I still have a couple of sets.)

And, you can't discount coloring books - not necessarily a toy - but still great fun. I love my coloring books and the 64-count crayons in the little plastic suitcase. :)
