Hi everyone. Ok i have now sorted out my accomodation for when i arrive in Sydney, however i want to travel down to Melbourne and i was wondering if its better to drive down, if so how long will it take or should i fly. I will be travelling back up the east coast at a later date so i dont mind missing out on anything.
Any advice will mbe much appreciated.

Its an 8hr drive possibly more, you would be best to fly down like around $120AUD or so last time i checked, or alternatively you could get the train thats a bit cheaper.

If your coming over soonish, it is too darn hot to be driving. i drove a couple of hours down the coast for new years and found it unbearable.

No way would I drive when you can fly.

Check out www.virginblue.com.au and www.jetstar.com.au

Keep in mind that Jetstar uses an airport in Melbourne in the middle of nowhere, whereas VIrgin Blue use the main airport.

It takes longer on the Sunbus airport shuttle from the Jetstar airport (Avalon), but its cheaper - $16.00. Its about 50 minutes. From Melbourne Airport it takes 25 - 30 minutes and costs $20.00
