How about Before Sunrise & Before Sunset? (Vienna & Paris) I love those movies. Anyone seen them?

I love them! And I've gotta say Baraka (1998) again, it's simply breathtaking.

Not a movie, but I really like Amazing Race.

Baraka, 1992.

This place could use an 'edit' feature. ;)

Wow! Just had it one more time during my previous gathering with my old buddies. I prefer Before Sunrise...the way they project the atmosphere the intimaty between them are so creative and sincere! Does anyone know in one part of Before Sunrise, jessy and Celine met 2 German guys and those guys speak Deutch and offered them to watch an underground show...what is the purpose of that scene or it's just a normal reflection of their society?

well i totally agree on the beach, lost in translation, before sunrise & before sunset. here are some i think would qualify in this genre:

1. french kiss (paris)
2. only you (italy??)
3. bourne identity & supremacy, ronin (parts of europe)
4. notting hill, about a boy, love actually, bridget jones's diary (uk)
5. the dreamers (paris)

and horrible ones, but beautiful backdrop:

6. xxx (prague)
7. into the blue (was it bahamas?)
8. entrapment (kuala lumpur)

can't think of anything else, for now.. dare i say the da vinci code? the louvre here we come.....

Not an obvious travel movie, but if you're sitting at home feeling miserable and dreaming about how you wish you going somewhere far away (over the rainbow), its time to watch "The Wizard of Oz"

It is a great travel movie in so many ways, when you think.

One of my favourite bits of travelling is being somewhere and having the "Well Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore" moment.

Then theres all the wonderful friends you meet a long the way, and how gain confidence and learn new things about yourself, ie they were clever/had a heart/brave all along just didn't realise.

Call me a soppy cow but its lovely. Pretty glad there were no scary flying monkeys involved in my trip though. ;)

Indochine (France, with Catherine Deneuve), is a great movie from before the Vietnam war, during the hegemony of France over various countries compiled as Indochina. Great movie, great landscapes, and plenty of information.

Nay, the film entitled "Zelary" (Czech) gives us a nice view of the mountainous Czech carpeted the wild-poppies. Splendid!

The Motorcycle Diaries.

How sweet it is!!!!
