Ok, so i've phoned about, and am pretty sure to go with STA travel, i'm going to confirm 2mo, so i need a bit of fast advice here guys!! (I just look for reasurance, hehe! no-ones listening to me boring them with my flight info here!)

I have a flight for £625 with JAAL,from london-sydney but will have to pay at max £150 to change date of return, so still not bad. On way home i get a free stopover in Japan for 1 night.

That's not including insurance, Is this a good deal??? has anyone had a lot cheaper??

You mean free stopover as in free accommodation and transfer to downtown Tokyo? Or, free hotel near the airport at Narita? Cos Tokyo is expensive as is getting their from the airport.

Did you try Austrian airlines?

Jas, you've probably got yourself a cheap flight, but UK to Oz via Japan is the looong way to go. Not only because of the distance, but because you'll be stuck in the airport for hours.

It ain't no "free stopover".

Well alll i got told was that i think it is Narita, and that a transfer and the hotel fee will be paid for me!

This isn't sounding too good now! is it?

£625-is the cheapest flight i've found so far, gona phone Quantas direct today if not then i was going to book this one.

Me and my friends booked our trip on Monday. We went through the STA, they were excellent. Were off in April

Flights: £608 each (Cathay Pacific) Stop over in Hong Kong for 3 nights at £21 pppn and then on to Sydney. To change our return date it will cost us £20.

Qantas quoted us £647 for flights and BA quoted £810

STA quoted us over £300 for insurance but we found a much cheaper deal elsewhere.

Jim :)

That's about the same then i suppose, i wont have the hotel cost but i will have to pay a bit more than you to change me return date. £20 is really cheap.I thin ive worked it out to be a lot cheaper to get a return than two singles.(thinking allowed here!)

I must say STA seem to be really helpful-waitng for her to call back or i will just ring.

By tonight i will have my flight-ooooh!! scary stuff, hehe! no wonder i can't sleep!

yeah STA said that their most expensive insurance was £600-but i think i'll be going somewhere else-where did you get your's and how much out of interest?

I went on Yahoo and they have an insurance section where they compare prices of insurance companies. I was quoted around £180 for 12 months of backpacker cover which includes cover for bungee jumping and scuba diving!

I've still got a couple of other places to get quotes from next...
