i think it's easy for ANY citizen to get a job anywhere in asia. there's a lot of expatriates in all the big cities. it boils down to the job you applying for, the position, the amount of experience and the salary you demanding. basically it's just like applying a job at your own country. that's my two cents.

If you work for a Thai business or a Foreign business can affect how much you make in salary.

Some ex-pats work as English teachers for very low salaries - but they get the a longer term visa!

Helps to have a small pension from back home to buffer any low salaries.

Your best bet is to find a job with companies from your country who need employees overseas - you get the biggest bucks that way!

My best advice is to make your money in your home country. Asian pay is very low by western standards. The basic rule is that you can only do what a local cannot. This usually means teaching English, SCUBA instructor, computer repair or something a Thai, Cambodian or Vietnamese cannot do. I think VN is probably the easiest to get something while you are traveling through that country. Talk to the ex-pats you meet that live and work in VN.

In Thailand you need a work permit and they are getting difficult to obtain. Without it you are subject to arrest and deportation. A high price to pay for trying to make some baht. There has been a recent crackdown on teaching English without proper degrees. Save your money and enjoy Asia as a tourist, not a low paid worker.
