Men's - Roddick! (lets be honest Federer is gonna win)

Women's - Maria Sharapova

You mean there are other women's players besides Maria ? ....... I thought she just runs back and forth hitting tennis balls thrown out to her .... probably by some lucky dude.

Federer

I'm watching the re-play of last night's match and Maria had a tough time in the second set. I wonder how much her shoulder might still be hampering her. One of the things with tennis, it is such a full-body sport. One small part is out of whack and it can hamper your whole game?
Roddick looked great last night. A little more active and came up from the baseline for a little net play.

Safin vs. Federer - I guess that's why I like Safin - he does show his emotion. I am sure it is a liability at times but it is part of his personality and his fire. Federer is just this cold calculating machine. One of the problems with trying to market tennis - to have truly talented, charismatic, attractive players that stay in the public eye. But back to the game ...

Michaela Krajicek (sister of Richard) made it to third round in womans draw. Pay attention to her she is going to be a potential top 5 player.....

That's why Agassi (the Las Vegas kid) always was much more popular then Pete Sampras (Samprazzzzzzz). Sampras would deserve much more support!!! His tennis was from another planet. I am a huge fan of Sampras....but also superstars need to retire.....

Safin is emotional on court, but he doesn't as yet have the sort of finesse that Federer possesses. And the Swiss plays more exciting tennis than Sampras, who was boring to watch.

Hewitt is out! Yes!

Sharapova is all right, but I don't think she'll be another Steffi Graf.

Interesting statement!!!! But freedom of opinion

Exactly! Courier too is boring! I always remember how those past players had their game played well. Boris Becker, Evan...

Yep!!! But Steffi Graf was no fight to Monica Sales during Sales's peak moments...however, Maria has inherited the same feature from Monica - yelling crazily over the court!

Just wonder if Federer has enough stamina to 'danse' all over the court, who else can have him beaten? Rafael? Nay, he is good on the clay!

I think there is much similarity between the game of Federer and Sampras. Courier had a very short peak in '92 en '93 when he dominated mens tennis (when he won the Austrailian open and Roland Garros twice). I think someone game is never boring. It depends also on their opponents. I mean sampras playing Agassi or Becker...those are (were) great matches (you barely see this nowadays).

The only tough opponent for Federer is Roddick.

Did Hewitt lose? I didn't see that last night. Iveta Besenova looked really good against Mary Pierce. Her serve is a pretty lame duck, though. And I have no idea how her skirt stayed in place the whole game. It couldn't have been more than 10-12 inches long.

Roddick is looking super, so far. I just wanna see some really good matches.
