I have 4 nights / 5 days planned for the Gold Coast, and would like some suggestions to best utilise this period.
My initial thoughts was to base myself at Surfers and spend :
1 day to Bryon Bay for sightseeing and general chilling
1 day to Theme Parks for some fun and action
1 day on a Fraser Island tour (spot of whale watching if possible)
Is there any other recommended must do / see around the Gold Coast to fill my other 2 remaining days?
I have to stay overnight in Brisbane on the 5th night to catch an early flight out next morning. Is it worth going to Brisbane a bit earlier and spend a few days/ nights there?
thanks in advance
I would spend more time in Byron if you can, it's been my favourite place in Australia so far. I wasnt impressed with Surfers at all, it reminded me of some tacky Spanish resort like Magaluf.
I've heard Byron Bay is nice but on the whole, the Gold Coast is a bit like Blackpool with sunshine....kind of tacky but nice to say you've been. If you stayed just there for 4 nights, I think you'd be bored, but it looks like you've got some other stuff planned so enjoy
i agree... hit byron for atleast a night and i garebtee you'll wanna stay the remaining days there. the gold coast is awsome though, no matter what people say it is the party capital of AUS. garenteed good time there.
Don't waste your time in brisbane, nothing to do. Its like a small effort of a city.
And the theme parks... if you've seen one you've seen em all. spend all day in a line to go on a roller coaster. i;d rather sit on the beach. just go to insanity in the gold coast. its a 1 minut walk from the beach, its like an illusion place (think dark rooms and mirror mazez etc) about 10 bucks and only lasts 45 minutes, then you can get on with your day.
Sorry to be bore but yes...Byron is great i would say have a the min 2 nights in byron!
You can chill or book action packed stuff during the day and party by night! I cant wait to go back there!
