Does anyone know whether you can get visa's for Cambodia and Vietnam in Bangkok? Or is it best to get them before you go? I'm going down to the Indian and Thai embassies in London to get my visa's, but don't know if I've left enought time as I leave for India in ten days! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
It is easy to get a Cambodian visa as you cross the border. They issue 'visa on arrival' at the airport and the land crossings. Phnom Penh is the best place to get a Vietnam visa. Fast and cheap, one day and $30. Use Capitol or Narin's GH, or Lucky, Lucky Motorcycle Rentals on Monivong. Lucky MC is the cheapest and fastest. Inquire at Capitol GH and then walk back to Monivong, turn right and 10 meters away is Lucky MC. You now know the price at Capitol and can compare at Lucky. I have used them 3 times for VN visas and it went smoothly. The clock starts on your VN visa when you get it, not when you enter VN. Good Luck.
If you're travelling by land you can get your cambodia visa at the thai/cambodia border and if you're travelling to vietnam after cambodia you can pick up your vietnam visa at the vietnam embassy in sihanoukville, cambodia. it takes about 15 minutes, costs about $30 us dollars i think, and if you do it this way you don't have to send your passport away through a travel agency in thailand or cambodia while you're over there.
hope this helps!
