Hi There - Can anyone offer any advice for setting themselves up in the UK. Have no idea how to get started once I move there. Is it differcult to open a bank account? And what sort of things do I need to sort out before finding work?

Hiya!
It's not too difficult to get settled here, depending on where you're coming from.
To open a bank account you need ID (usually two types, I think) and proof of address, which is usually an official letter sent to you at the address you give the bank. There might be other things you'll need, but I don't remember it being at all hard when I moved here.
As for work, are you coming on a short work visa or intending to apply for citizenship?

Thanks for this!

I'm from New Zealand and will be travelling on a British Passport so that should hopefully make things a bit easier.
My friends brother said it took nearly 10 weeks to get a bank account sorted and I didn't want to incur the same problem.
