Hi Guys, Im a bit confused!!!I had a large bout of vaccinations last year before going to South East Asia, and the only one I didnt get was Hepatitus B because of lack of time. Im going to India and Nepal in summer so I used the same website that the nurse showed me last year to check out latest immunisation reccommendations. I went to a different nurse at the new surgery Im using to get my Hep B the other day and she didnt actually check with any online databases or books or anything over what vaccines I need. She then said I would need some Meningitus injection if i was going to Delhi, but it had a weird name like Meningitus A,B,C XY or something which i had never heard of.Ive sinced checked the online place and I cant actually find this vaccine anywhere at all. Does anyone know if this is legit or what??She seemed a bit ditzy and wasnt very clear on the whole thing at all so Im a bit concerned of the advice she was giving me!Has anyone had this vaccine or what?

I think the most important are HepA, Tetanus and Yellow Fever. Ok, I've heard about Typhoid, HepB, Meningitis, etc, etc, but they are in a low level of priorization.
I was in India and Nepal last year.. think the three above are enough. More important is to take care with drinking water and take antibiotics with you (like ciprofloxacin), in case of any bact infection...
Nice trip!

Hiya, I've just finished my course of vaccinations as I'm heading off to India next week. The nurse I saw was extremely helpful, and didn't mention anything to me about a vaccination for meningitis. I had the usual tetanus, Polio, Diptheria, Hep A, Typhoid and Hep B and this was all that was needed, unless you decide to have others like Rabies.
I hope this helps a little,

Also I didn't need to have yellow fever for india either, I think it is only needed for certain areas.

Hannahwa...did you get Cholera for free?!?!?!?I was quoted £200 for the course!!!Im doing a similar route to you and Ive had most of them last year when i went away, hep a, tetanus, typhoid, polio, diptheria, now Im in the middle of getting my Hep B which is all i think i need!I havet a clue about this meningitus one, i dont think i trust the nurse im visiting right now, shes so vague and didnt even check up on her computer to see the official guidelines or anything!!!!
