I got home from India exactly a month ago and I am supposed to be looking/applying for jobs.

How bored am I!!?? I can't bring myself to look at any more job search sites. I am going crazy.

I used to feel like this everyday day at work before going travelling. So depressing. I can't afford to be too fussy about what I do.

So hello to everyone else who is in the same boat or is on TP while bored at work (I used to do that all the time!)

And isn't january the crappest month of the year (at least in the northern hemispehre)

Soooo true! I'm trying to save some money off my crappy salary to afford my two weeks in Belize and today when I got home I had a letter saying that it's time to start paying off the loans I was granted when I studied. Like I can afford that!

..but january is soon over and the spring is on it's way.. Hang in there

I'm waiting for "good news" from some job prospects. But I'm sick of looking at job boards as well, and getting my hopes up at likely prospects.

Just finishing all the admin stuff for my degree. Now my supervisor has disappeared on me!

Yeah, I know what you mean.

Its so depressing when you get back from travels. Last year I defered my final year at Uni so I could go off travelling...I spent months working in a crappy job to pay of my overdraft and to save up for my big trip...I came back and luckily it wasnt too bad as I had uni to go back to but the depression was still there...no Im soooooo stressed out with Uni and cant concentrate as Im now in anticipation of my next trip, its a vicious cycle!
How bout set yourself a goal, maybe you just arent ready to make a big decision career wise right now?How bout get a casual job even if its just a means to get your next trip sorted???Dont do something that makes you unhappy!Things like temping, bar work etc are always good for getting money and having a stress free life for a while, this would give you a chance to put things into perspective and relax a bit as well as not worrying about money and things? Then when the time is right you can make a decision on where your headed?
January is always a horrid time full stop, miserable weather, no more xmas.....Hope you feel happier soon chick!

January is rotten, paying for christmas and still paying for last year's trip, trawling the bottom of the credit that I'm still allowed. At least I've got another trip booked for February .

Look at the bright side; once you have a job again, you can come onto TP while at work just like the 'good old days'

Oh...i know how you feel, i quit work for 2 months before i go and travel and in the 2nd week i was getting bored! Sometimes i wish away the week-how terrible is that!

Usually most people would enjoy the time off, going from 6 days to nothing-boy!

I have my good days and boring days, lol!

after reading these posts, feel myself a bit lucky - self-employed and also 2 part-time jobs which could be done simultaneously and it's quite flexible to go travelling if I want, with 'condition' - spare more time!
