Depends what you like doing. Here's 3 things I really enjoyed for starters.

1) Hiring a boat and getting a tour of the Khlongs (canals).
2) Sipping a cocktail in the Vertigo bar at the top of the Banyan Tree.
3) Visiting Wat Pho and the Grand Palace.

Don´t forget to go to Lumpini Stadium to watch a fight of Muay-Thai.
This is the national sport of thailand.
I´m not sure but i think that fights are non week-end.

I can second the boat trip, very reasonable, we had a boat for two of us think it was about £10 for an hour and a half, you will stop off at the 'snake farm' as part of the tour and some parts of it were cheesy but it was ok.
The Q Bar was good as well as the Bed club, although reminded me of expensive and stuck-up London clubs and that was what i went to Thailand to get away from ;) Also ask where Nana Plaza is, you can while away a few hours around that place!

For go-go bars head out to PATPONG, it's on the Skytrain stop (at least until the Skytrain shuts down for the night.) There is also a "night market" available too! Located between Silom and Surawang Roads.

The Nana Entertainment Complex/Center is on Sukhumvit Soi 4, not far from the Nana Skytrain stop. Sort of like PATPONG with less hassle and cheaper drink prices. Small restaurants and other beer bars are also available here. Located almost across the street from the Nana Hotel.
