i'm so happy i found this place. I'm Argentinian, but living in the US right now. I'm going back home in May/June/July and was wondering if i could do it by sea. I'd like to have the chance to stop at ports in different countries and explore a little.
Does anybody have ANY idea of how i can do this? I did a search on the internet, but found nothing...is it even possible? is it safe? am i better off contacting individuals who have boats and are doing the same trip?
I dont think you will find a Freighter who takes passanger, and I doubt the would accept you because there are only man on this ships?!
Why you dont take a ticket to Central America, travell down to Panama.check COPA Air for last minut flights to Cartagena/Colombia
or Quito/Ecuador and then go by bus down to Argentina?
You can stop where ever you like and it is inexpensiv.
I looked into travelling by freighter meself a while back - it's possible to get to a lot of places but it works out pretty expensive. For USA - Argentina, look at this:
yes, i thought about the gender issues too on a freight ship. I've given up on that idea. Thanks for emntioning that bus is a good way to travel, i'm so new at this every piece of info helps tremendously.
it's is pretty expensive, i think i'll save that idea for some other time when money is not an issue (as if that's ever gonna happen...lol)
