I'm looking for advice on accomodation on Chaweng Beach in March.
I'd ideally like a beach front bungalow, budget is around 1,400THB. I'd like it to be reasonably close to the center, but want a quiet, at least at night.
I'm looking at The Island Resort and Spa.
I should add, the reason why I've chosen Chaweng Beach is because according to Lonely Planet guide, it's the only beach on the island, other than North Lamai, that is deep enough for swimming during October - April. Otherwise, I would probably choose somewhere quieter, further north.
I stayed at the Marine Bungalows on the north of Chaweng....we stayed in the cheaper bungalows as we were on a tight budget, but they have a range of more luxuory ones also...we enjoyed staying here, had a nice quiet little beach, a decent on resort restaurant and very clean set in tropical gardens! There was another place we stumbled upon whilst out walking....now I cant remember the name of the place but I can tell you how to get there! When in Chaweng, theres a reservoir about 5 minutes away.....when you get there you cant miss them, the most beautiful bungalows set upon a hillside amongst gorgeous gardens!Out of interest we inquired over the price and were told 1,200 Baht per night so maybe as your budget is quite high you might consider it?But yeah, I can reccomend the Marine resort, i think they have a website so you should google them!
