Hi,

I'm planning to be backpacking alone in Thailand in May and June. From what I can gather, this is the second most preferable time to be in Thailand after the busy 'cooler' season of November to February.

Does anyone have first hand experience of actually how hot it is? I'm planning on heading south from Bangkok to Koh Samui, Koh Pangang, Koh Tao, Krabi, Phuket, etc. I beleieve it's cooler down there. How about humidity, sleeping at night etc, just so I can be prepared.

Thanks in advance
Chris

i was there in march 05, may 05, oct 05 and nov 05 and every single time it was just as hot as the other

1 of the times it was monsoon season tho, and it rained HEAVILY every single day, think it was march or may tho

I will go to the south during this March, one of the hottest month. For May, it's still hot, the sun is very strong, but the sea breeze would make it better some how. I went to Ko Pagnan once on May for only 7 days, i didn't sun-bath just like the foreigners did but still, i got a big change in my skin color (i wouldn't say i'd had a tanner skin since i'm not white and i'm Thai. Thai girls just don't like to get dark though..)

We were in Thailand in May/June and in Bangkok & Phuket - whilst it was hot in Bangkok - high 30s it was a bit cooler in Phuket and it rained and rained and rained and rained! May/June sees the rainy season start.
