I'm planning a trip to Japan with a friend on the 19th of July and basically wanted to know if anyone knew of any good youth hostels to stay at for a few nights in Tokyo. I was hoping for somewhere relatively cheap, which offers either private rooms or twin rooms. I've found masses of places on the net but there usually too expensive or fully booked at such a busy season.
Any help would be much appreciated,
It might not be the answer that you want, but as far as my knowledge goes, there are no cheap hostels in Japan. Especially Tokyo. When I stayed in Tokyo, I was fortunate enough to have a couple friends that allowed me to stay with them, but since I didn't want to impose, I continued to search for a reasonable hostel. I never found anything cheaper than 30 dollars a night. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but Japan is not a cheap place, and it's hostels are no exception. Good luck though. I hope someone else does know of a cheap place.
hey, sorry about the lateness of this reply. But I've managed to find a few places, I just don't know how good they are. Would anyone reccommend Kimi Ryokan, Sakura Hotel or New Koyo?
I am not familiar with any of those places, but I suggest that if they are all about the same price that you go with the ryokan vs. a hotel. You will be experiencing real Japan if you do. Good luck.
