I want to book a flight coming into Dublin airport at 11:15 am from Paris to connect to a Aerlingus flight at 1:30 pm back to the States. Is this enough time? We will have to check luggage. (My other option is to arrive at 8:15 am which is awfully early and I'll have my elderly father with me). Thanks for any advice.
Dublin Airport is quite small so there should be no problem with 2 hours transfer time. However, I made the experience that most of the flights I was on back to Dublin were delayed.
Do you have to check in the luggage again in Dublin??? What Airline are you flying out of Paris with? You may be able to check in your luggage all the way through, that's what I usually was able to do if I had connecting flights.
Yes, I will have to check. I am coming from Paris on Air France (if I book it). I thought at Ryanair (sp) but read really bad things about the Paris Beavais airport.
I just wanna check - are you flying from Paris to Dublin with Air France or Ryan Air? If its Air France and you are connecting to an Airlingus flight you should be able to check your luggage all the way through no problem - both part of the One World carriers alliance and should have an agreement.
sorry, not being clear. I am flying round trip from NY to Dublin with Aerlingus, but taking a side trip to Paris. So the Paris flight is not part of the Aerlingus flight. It's my own connection. So I will have to get the luggage from the Paris flight and then check again for the AL flight. And I'm afraid that will take some time.
I would get too concerned there is only one main terminal in Dublin Airport - l have made a connection in around an hour but that was back in the days before more stringent security. I still think you should make it - as long as all flights are on time low cost carriers are well known for cancelling at last minute. Can you not fly with Aerlingus to Paris? Sometimes the prices are not as high as you would expect - even try BA who are part of One World also and you would be able to check luggage through!
i would say that is loadsa time, dont worry about it. Dublin airport pretty damn small and think the US gates are pretty close to the check in's.
You will loads of time to check in to AerLingus with your current schedule. A lot of flights are late into Dublin airport but there is more chance of this in the afternoon and evening than the morning.
Purdy is right though, even though your flights weren't booked together you should still be able to check your luggage all the way through as they are both One World carriers. Definitely as them as it will save you hassle - although having said that Dubli airport is also notorious for losing luggage!
By the way, Paris Beavais is an awful airport you are right but RyanAir is the most on time airline their is so while they aren't that nice - they will deliever you on time most of the time.
