Im going oz in march. Going to stay in sydney for a bit just to see the sights I think then head west to adelaide. Ive been hearing great reviews about the place and even had some aussies on the london underground telling me to go there. Im thinking of going there by rail though. Ive signed up with nomads and they have hostels which help find work along the way. I guess I'll get off at times to do some seasonal work just to make some money.

Has anyone travelled around oz by rail?
Do you meet many people?

Will only cost $109 from sydney to adelaide. I could pay $450 for 6 months unlimited rail travel. Has anyone done that?

If you want to go direct from Sydney to Adelaide your best bet would be flying.
You could get a flight with on or for the same price if not cheaper.
If you want to stop off along the way you could look into doing it by Bus.
This way you can head along the south coast and stop at some of the awesome towns along the way.Going Sydney to Melbourne and then melbourne to Adelaide along the mornington peninsula shouldnt be expensive and has some rad scenery and places to stop.
