I recently returned from a months trip to Costa Rica, where i spent 2 weeks working on a sea turtle conservation project, and then two weeks travelling and i loved it! So what im wondering is does anyone know of any good places where you can do some sort of work like that in other places round central and south america?

Help to Help, Work/Volunteer Worldwide
First, a very good list of websites offering jobs in the development area, worldwide, in the field of humanitarian aid, social projects, environmental issues, etc. -snip-
Don't utilize organizations at home that want to charge you a "volunteer fee" to place you...do your own research. Most agencies require you pay room and board at least while working on the site. If you a offered a full time job by an organization for 6 months or more duration, get in writing that you will be sponsored for a work permit, that includes teaching ESL full time for renumeration.

Hey guys thanks heaps, some of those sites you gave me are really good
Our own is www.cindurma.org in Nicaragua go on the site and download teh video of the Christmas Project (about 40 minutes) we are gearing up for high season here until after Easter Week!
Could you post details of the place you volunteered in Costa Rica, or send me a message with the details. I should be in Costa Rica sometime in the next couple of months or so, maybe around May, and it sounds interesting from what you mentioned so far. I'm currently in Cuba and then will be flying to Panama and moving about so don't really get much time to research these things, but am interested in doing some kind of volunteering at some point. So any details you can give or who to contact, address etc would be useful.
