In light of St Valentines (corporate smuck that the card makers profit from!!) what is the most romantic place in the world?

For me it was Jimberan Bay, Bali - watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean, watching the local fishermen head out for work, a wander down the beach, children playing in the waves, finihed off by amazing seafood on the beach listening to a local group sing to the diners. Bliss!

I know I have said this more than once - but, for me - it bears repeating...

Wherever Beerman is - that's the place. (Though, a nice sandy beach in the tropics somewhere, with wiki-wiki drinks in hand, would just be that much better...) ;)

I know someone whose boyfriend proposed to her on top of a mountain. Aww thats beautiful.

But otherwise I'm a dreadful, cynical old spinster. And I'm off to be sick.

Wherever,in someone you love's arms seems to me the best place,no matter sun or rain, beach or getho,it's always a bright beautiful romantic moment when love is here.

Wow, a tough question.

Perhaps a walk to the Eiffel Tower on a warm Spring evening after having eaten at a hole-in-the-wall restaurant on the left bank.

We'd eat ice-cream and drink beer, wander through the crowd, and end up on the merry-go-round over the bridge. We'd then walk up to the palace, and view the splendid site of the Eiffel Tower all lit up.

Finally, a taxi ride back to the hotel, and off to bed!

We have done that many times.

Rome tops my list!! For ambling about hand in hand just lapping up the atmosphere of a place so modern and yet so steeped in history! And Italian food helps the Romance (all that gelato has GOT to put you in a good mood!).

It even beats Venice and Paris - hands down!:)

I can't remember the name of the place but it was in the summer of 1997 on a island (attached with bridges)in the river Duna in Budapest (HU) where I was siting near the river with a beautifull hungarian girl and enjoying the summer night breeze.
