Some of us have become TP addicts (*ehm* cc.....). A lot of us end up in Off Topic. And we talk about....well....nothing.

So just out of curiosity. Why do you guys do it ? I'll start.
For me, it's a creative outlet. I'm not a great writer by any stretch, but coming up with a witty remark or 6 word response lets me unwind.

I don't think we talk about "nothing",here we get to know each others, these are sometimes strong moments, funny moments, happy moments.

And,personaly,here I found friends.

off topic is a forum meant for non-travel related topics. so that's your answer. definitely not 'nothing'.

What?!? Where are we? How in heaven's name did I wind up here? Checking the calibration on the transmogrifier - Hobbes get your butt over here. I wanted to go into the FUTURE not the Off-Topic forum in TP. Can't ever count on that tiger to do anything right!

Spaceman Spiff here. Its cold ... so cold out here in outer space. Nothing on the blip-monitors. Hyper-collodial-freem sensors are not picking up any signs of intelligent life. Where is this place 'Off-Topic'. And what is all this meaningless drivel splashed across random threads. The work of those blasted Zargons - no doubt. Setting a new course - hhmmmmm ... where to go? Ooohhh - make sure to stay away from that North America thread - I heard of those miscreants. Guess, its time for Spiff to do a little exploring - 'Yukon Ho!'

I'm with Q - I get to write about all kinds of silly things and ramble on and on about nothing along with a handful of people who are just as happy to do the same.

Plus I get to declare punctuation jihad at will. That's always a party favourite.

And I believe Q meant "nothing" in the Seinfeld sense - no topic or script to follow, just wherever our imaginations lead us. Even if it is, on occassion, in circles. ;)

It beats actually working during lunch hour.......

Besides, this is the only place in the world that readily accepts chest wigs as a vital and necessary part of life......

I'm still asking myself that question. And after reading the above-mentioned thread's latest responses... An answer may be a long way off......

I second that!

Posting here is a way to de-stress and have some fun. Plus, we get the occasional chocolate and alcohol...

The conversations here (as ridiculous as they may get:)) are still some of the most genuine conversations I get involved in. The people that take the time to organize their thoughts, and type them out, are people that actually have something to say, and it seems that alot of the time, are actually quite intelligent statements. That is something I have a hard time finding in my daily life. There are so many stupid people out there that don't have anything relevant to say. But I do live in the US, so there is alot of ignorance here, and I am in the south, and my personal theory is that there is a higher concentration of ignorant people in the south. But hey, what do I know. I'm probably just as ignorant as the next guy I suppose.

And then there are the random ridiculous conversations that are so entertaining that people in the surrounding cubicles are interrupted my my laughs out loud. You crazy bastards really know how to kill time.

Either way, the main reason I come back, is really because I sit infront of a computer for 8 hours a day, and the TP forums help maintain sanity.

Just don't get caught love!

I'm sure by now you've mastered the "quick click" - quickly maximises the deathly boring Excel file or whatever it is you're supposed to be messing with whenever the boss is in the vicinity to hide what you're really up to!
