Quoting Twinkle

do you know what the deal it with buying duty free stuff if you have a British Passport???this is happened to me twice recently....when I was coming back from Milan I tried to get cigarettes at airport....they were 25 euros but as soon as she checked my passport and saw it was British, I was charged 38 euros!!This price wasnt actually advertised anyway and she tried to explain but I couldnt really grasp what she was saying!same thing just happened in Paris, the guy was like "25 euros please" then he asked to quickly check my passport and as soon as it was British he said it was actually 50 euros!whats the deal with this?!?!no wonder I spend so much money!

In europe it's only tax free not duty free, hence the difference remember.
