Help finding the right hostel in London ?!?!

Travel Forums Europe Help finding the right hostel in London ?!?!

This thread is marked as being about England

I'm a 24 year old college student who will be travelling to Europe by mid August. At the moment I have a tentative list of four hostels in London, and I would like to get some input from someone who has stayed or is familiar with the area.

The hostels I have so far are:

St. Pancras YHA
International Students House
City of London YHA
Ashlee House

I'm travelling with my girlfriend - on a limited budget - and we are looking to find the best possible spot that fits our budget. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thank you,

Andres Gomez

Hey Andres,

Have you checked out Picadilly Hotel? You can find them if you check out the hostels here on Travellerspoint under London. They are a fair ways down the list because it is alphabetical but for location they are perfect. They have only recently opened but have been voted top ten hostel in both Jan and Feb of this year by hostel users. Oh, and location wise, they are sublime!

Hi Sam

I did check the Picadilly and looks like a nice hostel. Also the prices are very competitive with respect to the other hostels I had seen before. Most likely, I'll get that one and take your recommendation.

One more question - to anyone- do you have any particular recommendation as far things to do in London besides the usual information that you can find on a Lonely-Planet book or similar sources. Something like a nice bar after a long day of museums and sightseeing..?!

Hey Andres,

It has been years since I have been to London. I hear some good rumours about some place called The Church though. It is basically an old church rebuilt into a bar/nightclub I believe. Don't know how pricey it is going to be but I think that is a problem in London anyway
