We are going to Singapore early March and need to book hotel accommodation on line.
There appears to be a number of sites to do this however some appear to be cheaper than the actual hotel direct when you take into consideration Breakfasts that sometimes are included.
I have looked at;
This is the first time I have attempted this so not quite sure best way to go, I would appreciate some feedback, experiences etc.from anyone who has booked on line.
Thanks in advance.
I did several times online booking for hotel in M'sia, S'pore & China. So far it has no problem.
After u booked, they will gv u a reference id & also a confirmation to ur email. With that reference id, you can contact your hotel by yourself to confirm ur booking & checkin time.
Hv a good time.
Alarm Bells are ringing!!!!!

I will keep trying and waiting for answers and let the forum know if it is resolved.
Have had no problems with hoteltravel.com and sawadee.com when booking for Thailand. Using Hoteltravel at the moment for our trip to Thailand in April, have picked up a couple of great deals. Have used wotif.com.au for Aus and NZ with again no problems but they do charge a small booking fee.
I always check all the Hotel sites for prices and reviews before making that final booking. Asia rooms are mentioned a lot on other forums without a lot of critical comment. Amazingly for our treat of a few nights at the Peninsula we booked through Thai Airways Royal Orchard Holidays as it was the best deal and following it was the actual hotel site with a special package deal. First time that this has happened as the internet sites are normally much cheaper. Worth checking all the same before making your booking.
Usually the hotel doesn't answer when you send a query for a booking that you made thru' an online company. This is based on my experience as a ground operator for Sri Lanka and Maldives for some companies. I noticed that clients do send at times email or fax to the hotel direct. Note they wouldn't bother since they deal directly with the agents concerned - if they are good - they might notify the agent about the mail.
If you are still having problems - please visit us and we would be happy to help you with your destination.
[ Edit: sorry, no promos in the forum please. ]
I booked with wired-destinations.com for a hotel in Singapore and they were absolutely fine, and seem to get good discounts. I have recently booked with them again for Kuala Lumpur.
Hi I've just booked for Vietnam through Hotelsz.com and sent email for transfer from airport. They replied within hours...which was great. So maybe it is true that they don't see the need to reply if you are just confirming with them. try asking them to collect you at the airport and the cost involved...perhaps they'll respond to that. Good Luck!
OK we are back form Singapore and everything went fine, hotel was waiting for us to arrive and we were booked in (We used asiarooms.com)the cost was $AUD1115.00 with Qantas, $AUD1120.00 Hotel direct and $AUD790.00 with asiarooms so there was quite a saving $AUD325.00. We had asked for a late checkout which we had to confirm when checking in and it was arranged for us at $SNG15.00 +++ per hour after first 2 hours whioch were free so it cost $SNG52.00 for 3 hours which we were happy to pay.
After my initial doubts I would certainly use asiarooms.com again.

Many times, the hotel would not know where you are coming from, if you are not adding the correct booking code to it: that is, because many of the websites are only middlemen and the booking does not come from them to the hotel, but from one of the big hotel aggregators.
