Seems like its a popular subject! I have no problems what so ever with keeping my blog open on travellerspoint. If it aids someone on this site in their travels then so be it. However, in this day and age a frightening number of people , and employers, google people. I don't have anything to hide, its just that I dont want my blog to be the first listing in google under my name. Thanks

Simplest solution to this option would be to not provide your real name. We can't control the order that Google lists things unfortunately.

Sander! You're alive!!! We thought the Overlords had finally worked you to death...

Near enough, but they're working themselves just as hard. And I think when you see the results, you'll agree it'll have been worth it.

Hey mcgro, the blog setting has nothing to do with your profile. It is only related to the blog you have started. There is no setting to stop your Travellerspoint profile from being crawled by Google. As I mentioned in a previous post, the only way to stop your name from showing up on search engines is by changing your profile details so you're not using your real name. Go to your control panel and click on 'my profile' to change those details.

It is worth pointing out that Google doesn't update their index immediately, so when/if you do make such a change, there's no telling how long Google will take to update their site.

Ok, I'll change my name untill I can find a suitable site that will allow me to password protect my blog. Thanks
