Hi,
I'm flying from Australia, and here there's a lot of talk about all what's happenning in the airports, and the trouble that passenger get.

Schapelle corby...... so my husband and me decided, that we are going to carry a small bag (as small as a school bag) to carry it with us in the plane.

Can someone advice me what exactly would you take for a 12 day trip to bali?? what's a must overthere...

Just thing that we are going to buy our clothes overthere...

Thanks very much

Hi,
Ive been to Bali a few times. Everything over there is extremely cheap. You could easily just take one set of clothes, then buy a whole new wardrobe for next to nothing.
One of the best things ive seen in relation to all the drug smuggling/planting stuff thats going on, are these guys in the airports who will basically wrap your luggage in Glad Wrap (not sure what its called outside of Australia - its the clear plastic wrap you cover food with). I think i saw it in an airport somewhere in Europe. You pay them a couple of $$ and they wrap it so no one can possibly tamper with it. Im sure if you wanted to go to that extent you could buy a roll from the supermarket and do it yourself.
I dont think you'd have a problem going from Oz to Bali (as in they shouldnt question you seeing as how all this stuff is going on). I know you cant do it in America though coz they dont even let you put a lock on your suitcase there. It would be worth asking the question with the airline your flying with.

Im out in the big wide world for 8 months and I have 2 trousers, 2 long sleeve tees, 3 shorts, 3 vest tops, 2 tee shirts, 2 blouse, 1 fleece, 1 cardigan, 2 bikini, 1 sarong, 1 towel, 1 hat, 3 socks, 2 bra, 6 knickers, 1 pair sandals, 1 pair trainers.

So for your trip make sure you have essentials only, most things you wash will be dry in the morning, unless its humid, then it may tak a while longer. Just make sure you wash your dirty things each night and you will keep on top of everything.

Take items that will mix and match, things that could be used for evening meals out, plus realistically think what you're likely to wear by day. I generally live in one bikini, shorts and vest top all day, then a pair of trousers & lightweight blouse by night. In places like Bali its acceptable to go out in shorts or a sarong...so you wont necessarily need a smart outfit.
