March 27th this year i will have a 14hour layover in Hong Kongs airport

i have never been there before....does anyone know if there is anything to do there for that long of time?

- i arrive 10:30pm so hope they have good 24/7 stuff to do
- i work online so internet services would be good (24/7 internet cafe?)
- any 24/7 restaurants?
- if i leave the airport anything that late at night worth seeing?

thanks for any tips/advice/suggestions

Hi,

I am in a similar situation. Going to Japan and have an 8 hour lay over in Hong Kong. Mine is during daylight hours but wanted to know if i would be allowed out of the airport, or if i would be stuck in there. If i am stuck in the terminal all the time will there be sufficient shops / restaurants to keep me entertained?

many thanks

hi there, I was in HK over new years.
The airport is new, and has lots of shops, a few places to eat and internet access. so there should be enough to keep you amused for a while. Check out the airports website for more details of whats there.

Assuming that you are USA and UK citizens (respectively), you will be allowed out of the airport. You can grab a train to the centre of Hong Kong if you want to wander around a bit. Check out the Hong Kong MTR website for details.

I found hotspots not a problem, I think the whole airport is covered. HK is great for wireless connection and cheap.

You can go into town for a hotel if you want to, I didn't! I found some seats over in the corner and slept in the airport. No one bothered me, there were other people "camping out" not far from me. Make sure your bags are locked (I used mine for a pillow.)

Around 5 a.m. some of the cheap restaurants open up. Watsons store was a source for cheap drinking water.

There was a coffee shop that had free internet for their customers and lots of hot spots if you had your own laptop.
