G'day,
Has anyone on their Latin American travels managed to jump on a boat from Panama to Cartagena.

If so an idea of cost & where to actually jump on in Panama would be damn kind of ya!

Cheers,

I just got back from the San Blas Islands this week after spending a few weeks on my brother's sailboat. He mentioned that the going rate for passage from Panama to Cartagena was about $250, maybe more depending on where they have to pick you up. One Motor Yacht that makes the trip periodically is called Gabrielle. I looked them up on the web and could only find them offering San Blas Charters, so this side trip is obviously not their main business. If you could contact them directly you could see what other options they might have besides those advertised. I would guess they make the trip to Columbia periodically to pick up supplies (cheaper fuel?), or maybe to pass the time between more profitable charters, while making a little money ferrying backpackers back and forth. It looked like a nice ride.

Good Luck

Cheers for Info Juan.
Looks like a yacht / sail boat is only option but also looks like a great adventure...
I got some really good info on http://www.virtualtourist.com which pretty much said the same thing.

Once again, many thanks.
